Three all-electric buses and one charging station are in the works for Howard County, according to The Baltimore Sun this week. If everything goes as planned, the new buses will be integrated into HoCo’s transportation system in April 2015. These buses are some of the first to use induction method charging – giving them the ability to charge without having to plug-in at all! Instead, the buses are able to charge just by being under, over, or in the proximity of the inductive charging system. It’s a new level of innovation for fast, safe, and simple public transportation!
The new buses will run on the “Green Route” – serving The Mall in Columbia, Wilde Lake, Howard Community College, and Howard County General Hospital.
