The EV giant Tesla, known for being the only company to have an all-electric and hybrid vehicle lineup, will soon be joined by Volvo. In a recent announcement, Volvo stated all vehicles launched after 2019 will be hybrids or fully electric. The most astounding thing about this announcement comes when you consider what the announcement is saying: Volvo will no longer develop new combustion-only cars. For a company with 90 years of history making traditional combustion vehicles to make a complete about face to hybrid or electric only, is huge. If Volvo stays true to their word, and this change works out, it means it is entirely possible for other auto manufacturers to do the same. This could set a new precedent, and start the change to where electric and hybrid vehicles are the norm.
