Volvo Shuts Down Pure Internal Combustion Engine by 2019

By 2019, all Volvo cars will be either fully electric or hybrids. According to Hakan Samuelsson, president and CEO of Volvo, it will become the first premium car maker to phase out gas-only cars production in order to reduce their carbon footprint.  From 2019 – 2021, Volvo will launch five all electric models, and produce one million pure electric cars by 2025. Volvo is the first auto maker to use the Android operating system for vehicle “infotainment” and dashboard systems. In addition, Volvo announced their plans to build self-driving cars thanks to the partnership with Nvidia.
