Since VW’s “Diesel gate,” the company has been looking to change direction by investing 2 billion dollars in charging stations across the nation, and 14.7 billion dollars over the next ten years in clean transportation. They’ve formally coined this subsidiary as “Electrify America,” with some of its first implementation here in the DC-MD-VA area. As a start, Electrify America has installed eight fast charging stations in Maryland and Virginia, and will continue to deploy more charging stations across Boston, Chicago, and many more cities.
