I read an article by Brian Foley today about how owning an electric vehicle could have your electric company paying high rates for you to leave your car plugged in. My understanding is that each car that is hooked into the electrical grid would function as a capacitor, or a storage shed for electrical energy. Electric companies would pay you to plug your vehicle into the grid to transfer energy back onto the grid during peak hours. In turn you could program the car to recharge off peak hours that would give you a net income for having an electric vehicle. Other people would actually be paying you to own a product! If that ain’t celebrity treatment I don’t know what is!
